Dr. YAN Wing Wa

Dr. YAN Wing Wa is currently Honorary Advisor to the Hong Kong College of Critical Care Nursing, Visiting Consultant at the Department of Intensive Care, Pamela Youde Nethersole Eastern Hospital (PYNEH); Consultant at the Hong Kong East Cluster (HKEC) PYNEH Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy Center; Visiting Consultant at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital COVID 19 designated hospital; Past President and Advisor to the Hong Kong Society for Critical Care Medicine (HKSCCM) and Chairman of the Critical Care Medicine Foundation under HKSCCM.

In his current role, he works with various academic and professional bodies across Hong Kong, Macau and Mainland China on organizing critical care courses for health care professionals, including Critical Care Nephrology Courses, and ECMO Basic and Advance Stimulation Courses. He is closely involved in setting up the hospital-based Hyperbaric medicine treatment service in PYNEH, and co-chaired the Hospital Authority Task Force on the setup of Hospital-based Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy service.

Dr. YAN has been Chairman of the Specialty Board in Critical Care Medicine, Hong Kong College of Physicians, President of the Hong Kong Society for Critical Care Medicine and Chairman of the Hospital Authority Central Coordinating Committee in Intensive Care. Dr. YAN had over 20 publications in the field of critical care specialty.

Dr. YAN has been the Honorary Advisor to the Hong Kong College of Critical Care Nursing since 2011. He has supported the College in its initiatives to provide training and accreditation to members and fellows. He is dedicated and experienced educator for inter-professional courses of critical care. He had been an External Examiner for the Postgraduate Diploma in Intensive Care Nursing at the School of Professional and Continuing Education, University of Hong Kong (HKU) in 2017. He served as lecturer for the Master of Nursing Programme at the School of Nursing, HKU in 2018 and a regular speaker at the HKU Nursing Programmes. In sum, Dr. YAN supported the Hong Kong College of Critical Care Nursing in its establishment and has been a consistent contributor to the development of the Critical Care Nursing in Hong Kong through education and training.
