President’s Welcome Message
On behalf of the Hong Kong Academy of Nursing, I warmly welcome you to the 2nd International Advanced Nursing Practice Conference which will be held on 25 November 2023 in the beautiful city of Hong Kong.
With the success of our first conference in 2021, we are committed to making this conference another great success with far-reaching impacts on nursing development and significant benefits to global health. Thanks to the Hospital Authority, the Chinese University of Hong Kong, the University of Hong Kong, the Hong Kong Polytechnic University, and four local higher education institutions for supporting us again in organizing this international conference!
This conference is one of our key initiatives to excel in advancing nursing practice for safe and quality healthcare through collective efforts and international collaborations. It aims to bring nursing academics, clinicians, experts and policy makers worldwide together to exchange ideas and identify strategies and innovations for promoting nursing specialization and leadership in shaping the future of health.
The upcoming conference, themed “Advancing Nursing Practice: Opportunities and Challenges”, is a one-day event featuring a series of academic activities to explore ideas and share experiences related to this conference theme from both local and global perspectives.
We are very honoured to have invited internationally renowned scholars from Singapore, Canada, the United States and Hong Kong as keynote speakers to share their experiences and insights on advancing nursing practice, covering a variety of topics including policy development and specialty certification. Recent advances in specialty nursing development, such as transformation of healthcare delivery models and technology implementation in nursing, will also be examined during the conference. All these presentations and discussions will surely broaden our knowledge and exposure, inspiring us to embrace challenges as opportunities in accelerating transformation and specialization in nursing. You are also welcome to join our professional visit and pre-congress workshops on 24 November 2023.
What’s more, the conference also provides a valuable chance for local and overseas participants to build friendships and grow networks, thus enhancing international solidarity and strengths in advancing nursing practice for the health and well-being of individuals, societies, and all mankind.
